University of Florida women’s lacrosse head coach Amanda O’Leary announced the 2011 Gator recruiting class on Friday. “The class of 2015 is an extremely talented group of student-athletes,” O’Leary said. “They excel on the field as well as in the classroom. They are a positive presence in their communities, and our staff is extremely excited to have the opportunity to coach these outstanding young women throughout their collegiate careers. We are lucky to have them wearing the Orange and Blue, and they will certainly leave their mark on the University of Florida Lacrosse Program.”

Taylor McCord, the only Florida native in this year’s signing day class, was named First Team All-State as a sophomore and junior, while collecting her team’s Most Valuable Attacker award in 2010. She is a member of the LaxManiax Black team, having played in the 2009 and 2010 Under Armour All-American Underclassman Games. She played in the IWLCA Capital and Champions Cup and was named the 2008 and 2009 Elite Club Player of the Year for North/Central Florida. McCord excels in the classroom as well, having been named an Academic All-American as a junior and is currently in the top 7% of her class.
